With the 2022 National Football League (NFL) season on the horizon, Madden 23 and EA have released position rankings daily. This year is no different. But instead of looking at specific players, it is always fun to see how teams stack up in the ratings.

Interestingly, last year's Super Bowl Champions, the Los Angeles Rams are not the best-rated team in Madden 23. That honor goes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who check in with a 92 overall. The Buccaneers are the best team in terms of pure numbers, and their team is three points better than the next best choice, so it's not even really a close race.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been well represented the past couple of seasons. A lot of that has come since Tom Brady joined the team and helped lead the organization to a Super Bowl just two seasons ago. With Mike Evans already being listed as a top-10 wide receiver - at No. 7 - two more Buccaneers' joined him at their respective positions. Veteran Bucs' linebacker Lavonte David led the Bucs' duo coming in at No. 3 on the list with a 92 overall rating, while young spudding star Devin White rounded out the top 10 with a rating of 85 overall. Both linebackers are deserving of their rankings, although, one could make a case that White should be ranked higher. Also, if you want to use these players in MUT, please prepare some madden 23 coins in advance! This team is a high-caliber unit that can clearly contend for a Lombardi this season.

The Buffalo Bills, who came within 13 seconds of going to the AFC Championship game, are the second best-rated team in Madden 23. They have the talent; a franchise QB in Josh Allen, a star-studded receiver in Stefon Diggs, and now a veteran linebacker in Von Miller. Yet, each year leads to a heartbreaking end for Bills Mafia. This team has made some additions this offseason, namely to their defensive line, hoping to bring pressure to the opposing teams. The Bills are clearly one of the better teams in the league, no doubt. But one would be hard-pressed to make the case that the Bills are a better team than the literal reigning champions.

The reigning Superbowl Champions, Los Angeles Rams (88 overall) ranked third. The team invested a hefty amount of their salary cap towards star players like signing DeSean Jackson and resigning Leonard Floyd. Of course, the team's greatest gamble was trading away their former first-round pick Jarred Goff (and several high-value draft picks) to the Detroit Lions for veteran quarterback Matt Stafford. The Rams also made several in-season moves like attaining linebacker Von Miller and wideout Odell Beckam, Jr. (OBJ). LA was all in and cashed out with a Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.
