Rekon is an IoT-empowered app that is used for monitoring the speed of vehicles on the go. The app is connected to an IoT device that comes with an LCD placed inside the car. This device tracks and displays the vehicle’s speed. But, the pre-determined speed limit range for all roads is not the same. So, while carrying out the vehicle speed tracking function, the device identifies the location of the vehicle and displays the exact speed limit range mandated for that location. The IoT-powered device keeps calculating and updating the speed limit as per the present location, as the user’s vehicle moves. The app simultaneously compares the present vehicle speed to the predefined speed limit set for the road where the user is currently traveling. The user is warned with a buzzer or LED flash sound on the app whenever their speed exceeds the limit.
Besides the user who is driving, multiple other authorized secondary users can receive the speed limit alerts and monitor the driving patterns of the primary user. This way, secondary users can monitor the driving habits of primary users. Daily/annual driving records are displayed on the app in the form of graphs.
So, it becomes easy for fleet managers and owners to track the driving patterns of their fleet members and they can track the driver/s that is/are violating speed limits. Likewise, the parents of young drivers can use the app to track their ward’s car in real-time on the map, monitor them while driving, and also receive alerts for speed limit violations.
Users can also set the threshold speed limit range by mentioning the minimum and maximum speed values. Once the maximum speed value is reached, the user will be warned with a buzzer sound on the app.
