Jagex informed 117 that the company's efforts to develop an HD rendition of Old School Runescape was "still very early in the exploratory phases" however "very much in progress."

"Naturally this means the fan-driven projects that intends to change how Old School RuneScape appears is in opposition to our own designs," Jagex wrote to 117. "We consider it essential that there be a consistent look with regards to the way Old School appears and we'd like to make certain that our changes to the official version are the only ones that are available.

117 said that they offered Jagex an alternative by removing their software once Jagex had released theirs and also giving Jagex "collaborative influence" over the visual style of Runelite HD.

"They rejected the project outright," 117 said. "I am completely dissatisfied and angry with Jagex and I am so very sorry for this long journey, I'm not able to reveal this project with you.
